Gary the owner has been dealing in surplus military goods since high school, buying used goods from military outlets in California on the weekends and reselling them to local surplus stores in Arizona after school. High Desert was formed in 1986 selling new camouflage clothing at local gun shows and supplying small local retail stores. In April of 1997 we branched out onto the internet with one small website. Eventually we developed several websites selling both retail and wholesale online and discontinued all local store front and gun show sales to go 100% internet mail order only. We are a small family owned mail order company comprised of only 3 people operating out of a modest 1800 square foot warehouse. We are a stocking retailer which means that unlike a LOT of other retailers on the internet who are part time or selling from someone elses inventory... we actually stock all of the merchandise that you see on our retail websites so shipping is FAST. All orders where items are in stock are usually shipped within one business day. Due to industry conditions such as manufacturer backorders, UPS delays etc... we can not always maintain a 100% inventory but we pride ourselves in actually being able to maintaining about a 97% inventory of all of our products at any one time. Basically if we do not have it in stock... it is due to delays beyond our control and once you place your order with us we will notify you of any backorders right away. We ship 6 days a week via Priority mail 2-3 day service with delivery confirmation or overnight express mail upon request.
